Matthew St Festival 2010

I was working again for Max WiFi on the Matthew Street Festival held in Liverpool.

We were responsible for providing the inter-site connections between the various stages and venues spread throughout the city. Working closely with NRB we made use of a hybrid network designed around multiple point-to-point microwave links and ADSL backhaul to return CCTV data from the remote sites back to the main event control room.

In addition to this we also provided the VoIP telephone systems used across the event and internet access for the production crew and management teams.

We had a fairly full on build day which ran late into the night and early morning of the next day though everything went very smoothly despite some issues with the two ADSL lines providing the main connectivity in the event control area.

The festival itself was a huge success and attracted over 350,000 visitors over its two day course. I look forward to hopefully working on it again next year.
