GSMA Mobile World Congress 2010
For the third year running I was asked by White Space Productions to design and deliver a turn-key network system for this high profile conference held in Barcelona.
The system was used by production crew and delegates to access the internet, share important files and resources and also this year to handle the streaming of a high-definition video and audio throughout the main congress hall.
Working with the FIRA I designed and delivered a fully redundant multi-gigabit infrastructure capable of handling the high bandwidth requirements of the AV streams.
We also provided secure wireless access for visiting companies such as Google and Orange to use for their technology demos.
The highlight of the event for me was the demo of some exciting new features of the Android operating system by Google.
Telecom TV were webcasting Eric Schmidt’s keynote speech to many thousands of online viewers using connectivity provided by us and I am pleased to report that it was a total success.
We are already in the design stages for the congress next year where we will be looking to take on even more responsibilities and I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.
